Exploit Discovered in Google Chrome

Recently Google announced a vulnerability had been discovered in past versions of their Chrome browser and announced that we should all immediately stop whatever we're currently doing to update Chrome to the latest version, a version which contains a patch for this newly discovered vulnerability.

So we did.

Lucas hard at work...
Today we pushed out the most recent version of ChromeOS to all of our corporation Chromebooks. Typically, we do not require an automatic reboot after an update is installed, but I have turned on automatic reboots for the time-being to ensure that the update is fully installed on all Chrome devices. If your device automatically reboots itself within the next day I apologize for the inconvenience, but it is necessary for this update to install as quickly as possible.

We have forced the update out to all Windows machines, as well. When you come in tomorrow morning please close your Chrome browser (if you left it open overnight) and relaunch it so the update can install.

If you are one of the few folks in the corporation with a Mac you will need to update Chrome manually on your device. If you are unsure how to do that please submit a ticket so Lucas or I can install the update for you as soon as possible.

I would also advise all of you to update Chrome on your personal devices, too. If you are
unsure how to do so instructions are provided by Google here.

As always, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
